The one perk I will give this game is that the freerunning is vastly improved, and the environment looks beautiful-if a bit to comical in places. Oh, and one last thing- certain side quests you are locked out by completing the main story which really ***** sucks. The rest are the stupid parkour challenges. However, in DL2 -90% of the sidequests are 'go here fetch that quests', and unlike DL1 there are no interesting npcs to make the quests memorable. Onto, the side quests! The side quests in Dying Light more than made up for the games mediocre story, as it felt like the sidequests were designed to utilize the gameplay, and especially the parkour system in dl1. However, I was expecting a stronger emphasis on story, but what we got was a disjointed mess with to many boring characters, and not enough time to form strong relationships with the main characters. This is the same problem that dying light had, but I didn't care as much because the gameplay was top notch. What changed? No idea, but at least it sounds cool. Everything else, no matter what you do always stay relatively the same except for a few lines of dialogue to indicate *something* changed. Remember the whole "your choices have consequences" marketing bs? Well, in DL2 none of your choices matter all that much, and the ones that do are given to you at the halfway point(vnc tower, and at the X13 mission).
